Shaftesbury Home Grown is a community group, set up in early 2009, with the purpose of growing food within the boundaries of Shaftesbury Dorset.

All the produce is for sale to the people who live there.

Shaftesbury Home Grown is a non-profit making social enterprise with all proceeds from the sale of our food used to cover costs and to build up the business.

A busy weekend at the Community Farm. We have extended the line of specialist apple trees, the latest selected by our resident expert Dave Goddon is Orleans Reinette, a sweet small eating apple not commonly grown. Dave also has been giving some extra protection to our nut trees, to try to ensure we get the nuts, not the sheep and squirrels.

Then we had a big job to do - having dug a trench for some more water piping, the pipe needed to be laid and then the trench back filled. Luckily we had a number of hands, plus paws, to help, and completed the job in record time.
